Periodic Chaos

The project is complete and works as intended, and I would like to further experiment with how I can perform it. The tones sound fairly warm and clean, and I was able to create some chords in initial trials. However, in playing with my instrument, I discovered that the pitches can vary greatly and don’t hold their pitch perfectly, so it is more difficult to nail down a note than I had anticipated. However, it is still possible to create chords, and to do so I would benefit from additional practice playing it and additional planning of the chords I wish to create.

In reflection of my initial vision for this piece, I think the message is still there, although it may manifest a bit differently than I had been thinking. The four droning tones sound incompatible at first, and as I move the lightbulbs, they move toward a pleasant chord. This process repeats to create more chords, but between breaks in the cohesion, we always return to the chaos. This signifies that although my piece exhibits finding structure and order in the chaos, order is itself unstable, and the chaos will always return.
